First off – welcome, glad to have you around.  Looking for a new church can often times be challenging, intimidating, or outright frustrating!  I hope  you can find some of your answers here.  Maybe you’re not looking for a new church as much as you are looking for something . . .

A lot of people come to BrookRidge just looking for something.  Not church or salvation (more about this in a minute), per se, but something.  Some people come because they’ve read something that has piqued their spiritual interest – maybe read the DaVinci Code or seen a movie that brings up questions they want answered.  They know there is “more out there” for them, but they don’t know where to start, but church is as good as anywhere to start.

Some people come because they have had a relationship with God in the past, but that relationship is long-gone or faded so far away that they really don’t know how to get back – they don’t know how to build a bridge back to their faith.  So many things have gotten in the way – addictions, broken relationships, bad life choices, divorces, etc – all the things that make a relationship with God impossible.  Nevertheless, these people once experienced God in a way they desperately want to get back to.

Other people have been outright BURNED by the church and faith.  Somewhere along the line they were sold a “bill of goods” by the church . . . and lo and behold the church came up short.  The church made promises it couldn’t keep (or didn’t keep) and turned them off to faith – “A church or a God that does that is not a church or a God that I want to be a part of” is often the quote you might here.  Despite all the bad experiences and feelings, deep down they want to experience God and faith in a way that others do, but have never experienced themselves.

Lastly, maybe your someone who has just gotten away from God.  You know, went away to college, tech school, or started your life with every intention of having a relationship with God, but you just got “hijacked” by your own life.  You know – marriage, kids, job, debt, vacation, Red Sox – whatever, you just got away from it.  And now you want to get back into it.

No matter who you are, where you have been, or what you are looking for BrookRidge can be the place for you. The Bible says – “nothing can separate us from the love of God” (I know, you’ve probably never heard that before).  So no matter where you’ve been – you can build a bridge back to your faith . . . and to God.

Oh yeah, the church and salvation thing I mentioned above.  Don’t be surprised when you come to BrookRidge searching for something, that you FIND something as well – maybe something you weren’t expecting.  First thing you’ll find is a  church – not a building or a hierarchy, but community of people where God is #1 and people love each other and actually live it  - hard to believe, but true.  Second thing you’ll find is salvation.  What I mean by this is that you will find your purpose – why you were created.  You will find a God that desperately wants a relationship with you and has done all He can do to accomplish that, sending His Son to make the message clear.  You may not come looking for it, but you’ll definitely find it.
